Director, Wisconsin Public Radio
Mike Crane is director of Wisconsin Public Radio, where he is in charge of the statewide public broadcaster which includes seven regional bureaus, 32 stations featuring either the Ideas Network or the NPR News and Classical Music Network, and the new WPR Classical network heard on the HD channels of those stations. WPR also distributes, via Public Radio International (PRI), three programs nationally: "Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know," "To The Best Of Our Knowledge" and "Zorba Paster On Your Health."
Based at Wisconsin Public Radio's headquarters on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, Crane is also the chief operating officer of WPR. Prior to joining WPR in January 2008, Crane held positions leading broadcasting, engineering, Web services and more at several other public radio and TV stations including WMFE in Orlando, Fla.,, Vermont Public Radio, WUSF in Tampa, Fla., and WSKG in Binghamton, N.Y.
